Principal's Message

Dr. Dana Finch

Welcome to Heritage Middle School! In 1992, I began my teaching career in Cheatham County Schools as a middle and high school English teacher. Since 1998, I have served my students as a middle school principal and an elementary principal.  My husband Clint, a teacher and coach at Brentwood High School, and I have been married since 1994.  We have two boys who played both middle and high school football and wrestled, too!  We are always involved in some sort of school activity.  We love it!

I am honored to be a part of one of the most significant times in your child’s life. When I was an undergraduate student at Lipscomb University, I knew that the middle school years would be my focus. When I finished my dissertation for my doctorate in 1998, my focus was on the achievement levels of middle school students. I am amazed at the transformations that occur during the middle school years.

Guiding students who are developing their character and are learning how to relate to others is a tremendous responsibility. We at Heritage Middle School are committed to helping each child develop confidence in all aspects of academic and social growth. Together with our families, we will strive to prepare our children for the challenges of high school. We hope this year is one full of success and positive experiences.
